Course I only had them for about 30 minutes and I am pumping music through them as I type this. The sound quality is great for me. For my personal needs, music, movies, etc. They're fabulous for that. On some songs the sound is quiet when it normally isn't, but I assume that it is because there are not any tweeters (high frequency emitting speakers). But that's quite fine. To give a better understanding as to how well music is put through, I listen to hard rock, heavy metal, and even techno and I am satisfied with the quality of the speakers when listening to these genres. Pros: Cheap and affordable, easy to assemble. Sound quality is A-okay. Cons: Wires are kind of short. Maybe about 5-6 feet of cord. The volume control switch included has even shorter cords on it so it can't sit far from your computer tower, but this can be changed with a male 3.5mm to female 3.5mm extension. Side NOTE: volume controls on the switch are kind of sensitive. The volume I have it set to is really low and any lower will turn the speakers off completely. Not a pro or a con in my opinion, adaptable. Overall great product, recommend to anyone and everyone willing to try these.

I bought this speaker as an in wall center channel speaker and it excels in that role. This compliments 4 Yamaha NS IW660 speakers that I used for front and rear surrounds. The speaker chassis is solid and will not be prone to any components vibrating which can be annoying with some in wall speakers. The sound is excellent and clear. The highs are crisp and not tinny and the mid-range response is excellent.

My only dislike is that the cover screen is domed and I would have preferred a flat screen for a cleaner appearance.

While legitimately we wanted gear that would last and achieve well we also had minimal extraneous allocation to work with so we feared the available options would be, well, lacking to say the least. The entire setup includes a Sony Bravia Kdl-32L5000 32" Lcd, a Sony Dvp-Ns77H upconverting Dvd player, and the kids' Ps2 which still enjoys regular use. The Bravia Lcd was chosen for its connectivity options and the price I found it for just prior to Christmas at our local Wal-Mart. The Dvd player was chosen for its solid reviews, Bravia-Sync capability with Sony flatpanel monitors, as well as price; it was scored in a closeout sale locally. For sound reproduction for the above display equipment the Sony Str-Dh800 A/V receiver was chosen for its on-board surround decoding options and the capability to control itself (obviously), the Tv, and the Dvd player from a particular remote while negating the necessity for buying a third-party universal remote control. Be mindful of receivers whose output ratings are given as "Xxx watts worth of output @ 1kHz" or some other definite frequency rather than the entire range of average human hearing. Receivers rated in this fashion are (generally) not going to offer the same level of output over the entire range of audible frequencies as it does for the definite frequency used for the rating to begin with. You'll also want to ensure that the wattage output per channel falls somewhere in the upper third of the input rating for these speakers. All in all? My view that these Onkyos are a fantastic buy at under $250/shipped has not been dulled whatsoever after using them for awhile - pick these up if your living space allows for these to be included as a part!

Great system... : Onkyo SKS-HT870 Home Theater Speaker System

This is tough. Lets do the good.

Sounds awesome! Looks good, easy to setup. For the money I categorically dare to find competition. Playing video with Dts Audio is splendid with my onkyo receiver and this speaker package. Comes with color coded wire but is a limited low in gauge if you ask me. All in all, the product is categorically sharp, well designed, provocative but neutral and not overkill.

To the bad. As stated in other present Onkyo states in the by hand shipped with mine there is an I-Pod dock included and was also described here on amazon as included. I tore the cardboard and foam apart seeing for it and idea I must be the unlucky guy. No the case. For anyone think they stopped shipping with the dock. Onkyo made no mention of this, and denies it even ever came with one!! The support and response I got was appalling. I was treated like an idiot and as if I was wasting their time. I along with other Amazon customers have proof of false advertising and hope to get this resolved.

Bottom Line. Product=Great Company=Awful

I will Never buy other Onkyo product in my life. The only saving grace you might have is if you buy from Amazon you can all the time rely on Amazon to accurate or make of for Onkyo's blatant short comings. They simply do not care about you the customer, and whats more is they seem to make that very clear to you. I am categorically offended by there practices. Good luck.
