The Dvd player was chosen for its solid reviews, Bravia-Sync capability with Sony flatpanel monitors, as well as price; it was scored in a closeout sale locally. Receivers rated in this fashion are (generally) not going to offer the same level of output over the entire range of audible frequencies as it does for the definite frequency used for the rating to begin with. You'll also want to ensure that the wattage output per channel falls somewhere in the upper third of the input rating for these speakers. All in all?
